So here we are, a new website, a new hosting platform, and a new beginning. For a good number of years I had a blog on Blogspot, which eventually turned into Blogger. Like many others I turned to Facebook when it came along and for a good long time my blog was forgotten. Recently I decided to start blogging again motivated mainly by the perception that Frickbook had become brain dead. It takes exactly ZERO effort to do anything on FB. You don't have to think at all, just blurt things out and see what happens. For me that isn't good enough. I want content, not 140 word Twitter posts with a picture. I started my old blog up again and then discovered that Frickbook was blocking any and all reference to my blog. That irritated me so I decided to experiment and I discovered that if you put a link to a blog that was hosted on a private website the link was perfectly acceptable. That being the case I bought the domain name I wanted, purchased a hosting plan, and here I am...controlling my own destiny. We'll see how it goes.
There is going to be a learning curve for me to overcome with this WordPress format as it's changed somewhat since last I used it, but I'm figuring it out, and there is no shortage of learning tutorials online. Please bear with me as I try and get this all down and laid out in a logical and understandable order. If ya have any tips please feel free to pass them on to me. Thanks!
Good for you. I see you found out what I’ve known for a long time. I switched in January 2018. Best thing I ever did. More professional looking and you can do so much more with your own digs. Welcome to the world of blogging done right.
I’m happy that you used me as a guinea pig. You’ll never go back to blogger.
Have a fabulous day. 🙂
Get to work
Here’s a test comment for you.
Thanks for leaving a comment. Lot’s of new stuff to learn.
I love the blogspot. I remember you sponsoring the Bluegrass festivals over in the valley and also your radio show on Sunday afternoons. Loved them. Did you see where Mac Wiseman died the other day. He was one of the greatest. I will be checking this at least once or twice a day.
Thanks Maryann. The festival was a good one and the radio show was a lot of fun. Yeah I saw where Mac went away. Too bad, he was one of the great bluegrass folks for sure.
